For the record…Diagnostic records begin with photographs of your face and mouth (you’ll enjoy looking back at these “before” shots when your treatment is completed!). We will also take X-rays of your head and teeth and make molds of your teeth. The doctors may place some small rubber or metal separators between your back teeth to make placement of the orthodontic bands more comfortable at your next visit. Our bookkeeper will go over the financial arrangements for your treatment and make sure that you understand our payment procedures and options. Before your next visit, the doctors will study your photographs, X-rays and the plaster models of your teeth. With this information, they will plan a course of treatment designed to give you a proper bite and the best physical appearance possible. Because both doctors are reviewing the records, each decision automatically gets a second opinion. |
When you arrive for your first appointment, one or usually both of the doctors will perform a thorough examination of your face, jaws and teeth. They will discuss your diagnosis and treatment with you, give you an idea of how long it will take and the costs involved. If you would like to proceed with treatment, we will start by preparing our diagnostic records during this visit.
